High Court challenge against closure of Croydon's walk-in homelessness support

Earlier this month, PILC issued a claim for Judicial Review against Croydon Council, challenging its decision to end all walk-in access at its main housing service offices. This change means residents can no longer, in first instance, approach the council in person – even in cases of homelessness or urgent need.

We argue that the shift to fully digital services discriminates against people who are not computer literate or lack internet access.

Watch the video above for more information, including our interview with Emma from South Norwood Community Kitchen (‘SNCK’) who speaks to the real-life impact of these changes.

Groups like SNCK are demanding that walk-in services are restored!

This case is part of PILC’s Gentrification Project. Jeremy Ogilvie-Harris of Cornerstone Barristers is instructed.
